FAQ

School painting questions

Can you paint during term time?

Yes, in areas that can be closed off, such as an empty classroom block, or in the evenings and at weekends. Most school painting is done in the summer holidays and at half-term, so pupils and staff are never near the work.

Are your painters DBS checked?

Yes. Everyone who works on a school site holds an enhanced DBS check, and we follow your safeguarding policy, sign-in procedures and any rules on lone working or escorted access.

How much does it cost to paint a classroom?

As a guide, repainting a standard classroom costs from £700 to £1,300, including walls, ceiling, door and woodwork. Halls, corridors and whole-school programmes are priced from a survey, and we can phase work over several holidays to fit your budget.

How much of a school can you paint in the summer holidays?

With several teams we can redecorate a whole primary school or a large part of a secondary school over the summer. We agree a programme before the end of term so everything is finished, cleaned and dry before staff return.

Which paints are safe for schools and nurseries?

Low-odour, low-VOC water-based paints that are safe for children, with scrubbable, stain-resistant and anti-bacterial finishes in classrooms, corridors, dining areas and toilets.

Do you provide RAMS and COSHH assessments?

Yes, for every job, along with insurance certificates and our health and safety documents, so your estates team or trust can approve the work in advance.
