Interior painting
Interior painting and woodwork, room by room
Our interior painters in London handle walls, ceilings, mouldings, doors, skirting and staircases, from a single bedroom to a whole house. Woodwork painting is where a decorator shows their skill: we sand back to a sound surface, fill dents and open joints, prime bare timber and lay off every coat in the direction of the grain, so doors, banisters and sash windows look smooth rather than brushy.
- Walls and ceilings, with cracks filled and stains sealed
- Cornices, ceiling roses, panelling and mouldings
- Doors, frames, skirting and architraves
- Staircases, spindles and handrails
- Sash and casement windows, eased and painted inside

Reviews
What homeowners and interior designers say
I trust them with my most demanding clients. Colours are matched exactly, the paint finishes are flawless and they leave every house cleaner than they found it.
They decorated our whole hallway, stairs and landing in a Victorian house with very high ceilings. Spotless work, a tidy team and they finished a day early. The cutting in is perfect.
We were about to replace our kitchen. Instead they sprayed the units in a soft green and fitted new handles. It looks like a new kitchen for a fraction of the price.

Hear it from a Richmond estate agent
Sara Thompson-Morton on the homes we have prepared for sale in Teddington and Twickenham.

“He came and absolutely transformed this property and within seven days the property went under offer.”
Read the transcript: Sara Thompson-Morton
I'm actually delighted to do a testimonial for Harry. I am an estate agent. I work locally in the Richmond area, so it's really, really important that I have somebody that I can trust. So, standout ones. I've used Harry quite a few times, but there's a couple that really stand out.
One was in Teddington. We took the property on, having problems selling it because it was the end of a tenancy and it wasn't looking its best. So we got Harry in. He came and absolutely transformed this property and within seven days the property went under offer. My clients were absolutely delighted. They weren't even there. They weren't in the UK either. So there's a lot of correspondence going on across the waters.
A second one that stands out is one we had in Twickenham, which is currently under offer. Again, Harry worked his magic and it wasn't just decorating. It was also flooring as well. So wood flooring and doing things that I didn't even realise that he could do. He transformed this property and again, within 14 days, the property is under offer.
So all I can say is he and his team are absolutely fantastic. They work well as a team. They're always on time and there's nobody else that I would use for decorating, or recommending, most importantly, to my clients.
FAQ
Questions about our house painters
How much does it cost to paint a room in London?
As a guide, a bedroom costs from £600 to £900 and a living room from £800 to £1,200, including preparation, paint and two coats. A hallway, stairs and landing usually costs from £1,500 to £2,800 because of the height and the amount of woodwork. Every home is different, so we visit for free and give you a written, fixed-price quote. See our guide to painter and decorator prices.
How long does it take to decorate a room or a whole house?
Most bedrooms take two to three days, a hallway, stairs and landing three to five days, and a full house two to four weeks. Plaster repairs and specialist finishes add time, and your quote includes a start date and a day-by-day programme.
Can we live at home while you decorate?
Yes, almost all of our residential work is in lived-in homes. We work room by room, keep walkways and the kitchen usable, use low-odour water-based paints and clean up every evening, so family life carries on around us.
Do I need to move furniture or empty the rooms?
No. We move furniture to the middle of the room, wrap it and put it back when we finish. We ask you to clear ornaments, take down pictures and put away anything fragile or valuable.
Do you offer a colour consultation?
Yes. On the first visit we look at your rooms in daylight, talk through colours and sheens, and paint large sample patches if you would like to see them on the wall. The consultation is free with any decorating job, and we are happy to work to a scheme from your interior designer.
Which paints do you use on walls and woodwork?
Premium paints from brands such as Farrow & Ball, Little Greene, Dulux Trade and Tikkurila. Walls usually get a durable matt or eggshell; woodwork gets a hard-wearing water-based satin or eggshell that stays white instead of yellowing. On lime plaster and in period homes we use breathable mineral paints.
Do you paint flats as well as houses?
Yes. We decorate flats, maisonettes and mansion blocks as well as houses, and we are used to working with building managers, lift bookings, parking permits and restricted working hours.
